Prior to joining CenterPoint Aviation Law, Leland worked with a prominent tax and accounting firm, focusing primarily on the federal and state tax considerations of Mergers & Acquisitions, as well as advising and consulting on Sales & Use Tax matters for a wide variety of clients and industries. As part of his duties, Leland also regularly interacted with various taxing authorities on behalf of clients and helped guide businesses through an array of audit and tax controversy issues.

Leland is a transactional attorney that regularly helps navigate private and corporate aircraft transactions through the FAR regulatory scheme, ownership requirements, registration requirements, and financing with an emphasis on the corresponding federal, state, and local tax implications. Leland also provides counsel on efficient structuring, charter and aircraft management agreements, aircraft sharing arrangements, and general aircraft purchase documentation.

Leland earned his B.A. from the University of Washington, Seattle, his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he received a Tax Certificate with honors, and his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law. Leland is also a member of the National Business Aviation Association, Pacific Northwest Business Aviation Association, and the aviation section of the King County Bar Association.
